The European Erasmus+ Account4GreenEco project held its First Sharing and Promotion Activity (SP1) at MBS School of Business (Montpellier, France) from October 1 to 3, 2025. The meeting brought together nearly 30 accounting academics from 18 European universities to collectively reflect on how to integrate sustainability information into the curricula of the European Higher Education Area.

During the conference, the main result of the project was presented: the Sustainability Accounting Learning Platform for a Green Economy. This innovative tool, developed over the three years of the Project, offers a dynamic and autonomous course based on gamification, designed to help students understand the importance of sustainability information and familiarize themselves with the latest advances in the corporate field. The platform aims to become an educational benchmark throughout the European Union, facilitating access to relevant learning materials and promoting training committed to the environmental and social challenges of the 21st century. This activity served to disseminate it among lecturers interested in using it once the Project is completed in November 2025.

In addition to gaining in-depth knowledge of the platform, participants discussed the key content and skills that students should acquire, the most effective pedagogical approaches to achieve this, and the institutional barriers that hinder the incorporation of these topics into academic programs. In this way, the activity operated not only as a form of dissemination for the Project, but also as a collective space for discussion and reflection on how we can cooperate together to foster sustainability accounting education at universities.

Following the success of this first activity, the project is preparing for its final conference, which will be held on November 13 in Madrid. All information about the event, as well as options for in-person and online participation, is available on the specific section of the Project’s website.
